I was supposed to see my daughter today but she blew me off.  Again.

And she picked the day!  It was her plan.

I know my child, she’s probably asleep.  I went to her house and her roommates said she wasn’t home but they did call her guy friend for me.  He told me she was at his house before he went to work (he works 2nd shift) and she told him she had plans with me.  I figure they stayed up all night and she planned to go 2 days with no sleep so she could see me then crash early but instead she sat down and passed out.

I understand, but I’m irritated.

I killed time for several hours.  I mean, our plans were at 4 but if I heard from her by like 7 we could still go to a late movie.  It’s after 10 now and I still haven’t heard from her.  I”m not actually angry but I would have done something different with my time if she let me know she couldn’t make it.

I did spend some time at a Barnes & Noble though, so that was good.  Nothing is as soothing as a bookstore.

I like sci-fi movies, and I noticed that I like the noir ones best. They are almost universally set in a sort of post-apocalyptic dystopia. I later realized, I find them comforting and familiar, probably because I live there, at least in my inner life. Perhaps things are not as bleak as they seem, or perhaps I am simply learning to keep a better attitude. This is the chronicle of my adventures. May you find something valuable here.
